Our Projects
in Rio de Janeiro
We believe the Gospel should be lived out in a tangible way. In addition to training and sending missionaries, our very essence is to serve the city of Rio de Janeiro with compassion, consistency, and hope. Each project reflects our commitment to love God, love people, and bring transformation where it’s needed most.
Through local initiatives in Pavuna, Acari, and other communities in Rio de Janeiro, we partner with churches, families, and communities to share the love of Jesus in both words and actions. From feeding the hungry to mentoring youth, supporting mothers, leading prayer rooms, planting churches, and developing missions, every project is an opportunity to witness lives restored and the Kingdom of God manifested.
Pavuna
In Pavuna, Iris Rio partners with the local church Comunidade Evangélica da Pavuna, under the leadership of Pastor Marco Antonio, providing support and working together on various missionary initiatives. The focus is to bring dignity, care, and the love of Jesus to families, children, and people living on the streets.
Our activities include:

Breakfast with the homeless – a warm meal is shared alongside spiritual food, with the Word of God preached before breakfast is served.

Worship services for the vulnerable – gatherings that welcome people in situations of poverty and homelessness, as well as children and families supported by the projects. Each service concludes with dinner.

Children’s Activities – a monthly event held together with two partner churches, where children enjoy recreational activities, prayers, Bible teaching, and worship, as well as breakfast and lunch.

Youth Mentorship – monthly gatherings for teenagers, with separate groups for boys and girls, creating a space for intentional conversations, talks, and counseling.
Acari
In Acari, Iris Rio serves through evangelism, discipleship, education, and community care, walking alongside families and residents with practical support and the hope of the gospel.
Our activities include:

Biblical teaching and discipleship – sharing the Word of God and encouraging spiritual growth among locals.

Home visits – bringing encouragement, prayer, and care directly to families in their homes.

Tutoring and school support – helping children and youth with academic reinforcement.

Community worship services – we are planting a local church with services held for the community, creating a place of fellowship and encounter with God.

Women’s and mothers’ ministry – monthly gatherings led with the support of a psychologist, providing a safe space for conversations, emotional support, and encouragement.
